Blackberry launches their fourth smartphone in 2013

Right off the back of the Blackberry Q5, the Canadian telecommunication giant introduces yet another smartphone device. The Blackberry 9720 was introduced into the GCC market this week, and is priced at $218.

The new curve comes with an updated version of the Blackberry 7 OS, which was previously featured in the Bold 9900, and is available in three different colours of black white and, soon to arrive, blue.

The signature keyboard and 2.8” touchscreen with trackpad are reintroduced with several enhancements, such as the updated interface that lets you swipe to unlock the phone or access the camera from the lock screen and a dedicated BBM key.

The latest version of BBM is not incorporated but will soon be available for download through the Blackberry World storefront.

BlackBerry’s Regional Managing Director, Robert Bose, stated “This really is an ideal smartphone for customers looking to upgrade from a feature phone or entry-level Android or Windows Phone device, as well as for existing BlackBerry smartphone customers looking for an upgrade in style and performance.”
