Tanzania opens talks on construction of natural gas processing plant

Tanzania is in talks with six oil companies on the construction of a natural gas processing plant in the country.

The Ministry of Energy held consultations with the six companies namely; Statoil ASA, ExxonMobil, BG Group, Royal Dutch Shell Plc, Ohir Energy Plc and Pavilion Energy Pte Ltd as well as Tanzania Petroleum Development Corporation (TPDC), Petroleum Upstream Regulatory Authority (Pura) and Tanzania Electric Supply Company (Tanesco) ahead of a stakeholders’ meeting which is set for the end of November.

Kenya banks on underground power network to end interruptions

In a bid to end frequent power cuts, utility firm Kenya Power is in the process of implementing a Sh13bn underground power network project in Nairobi. The cabling project is expected to reinforce the Nairobi City Centre bulk power supply system by providing alternative supply to the existing substations.

Construction of Ethiopia’s Ankober-Dulecha Road Launched

The construction of Ethiopia’s Ankober-Dulecha road has been launched and is expected to streamline the countries transport industry once complete,Ethiopian Road Authority has said.

According to the Ethiopian Road Authority the project will see a total of 40 Kilometers and will be cconstructed using the latest concrete asphalt technology.

The Ankober-Dulecha road which is expected to link Amhara with Afar state in Ethiopia has begun at a cost of US$38.65m

Construction of low cost houses booms in Kenyan city of Mombasa

The property market in Mombasa County is experiencing a major shift, with low cost houses now making their way into the up-market areas of Nyali and Shanzu.

Kenya Projects, a property development firm, is putting up low cost houses in Shanzu, with the firm saying that of the 100 units being sold off-plan. 30 have been taken.
