A housing materials plant worth US$ 98.7m is set to be constructed in Kenya by a Chinese firm- China Wu Yi and will be completed in June next year. The new plant will be developed in Athi River and will manufacture precast materials that are expected to be sold to other construction firms in the region. Chairman of the company, Mr. Qiu Liangxin confirmed the good news and said that the mega project is anticipated to create a modern building industry base especially for research, manufacture, sale and demonstration of pre-cast elements in Kenya.
Tanzania President John Magufuli has directed the Ministry of Energy and Minerals to speed up the construction of a Liquefied Natural Gas project in Lindi Region. The plant project will cost US$30bn. Speaking at State House in Dar es Salaam after he was handed the progress report of the Liquefied Natural Gas project Magufuli urged that construction of the project commence.
Kenya plans to construct a major airport in the Eastern part of the country,area governor martin Wambora has announced. The multi-million dollar airport in Kenya will be constructed in Embu County. The International Airport is expected to cost US$ 99 Million. Embu Governor Martin Wambora said his county is currently in talks with the National government along with other partners to ensure that the multi-million dollar airport in Kenya kicks off as soon as possible during his tenure in office.
Two Rivers Mall in Kenya is projected to be opened next month after additional time was used to expand it following the immense demand it received from other retailers. The mega mall being developed by Centum was initially supposed to occupy 1.2m square feet of land but has currently been increased to 1.7m space of land.
